Trezor.io/start — Get Started with Your Trezor Device

Welcome! This quick start guide walks you through the essential steps to set up your Trezor hardware wallet securely and begin managing your crypto. Follow each step carefully — security starts with a correct setup.

1. Unbox & inspect

Open the package and confirm the device is sealed and untampered. You should find the Trezor device, a USB-C/USB-A cable (depending on model), recovery seed cards, and minimal documentation.

2. Connect & visit Trezor Suite

  1. Go to trezor.io/start from a safe device (typed address recommended).
  2. Download and install Trezor Suite (desktop or web version) as directed on the site.
  3. Connect your Trezor to your computer or smartphone using the included cable.

3. Initialize your device

  1. Follow on-screen prompts in Trezor Suite to create a new wallet.
  2. Set a strong PIN on the device — this protects your Trezor if it’s physically lost or stolen.
  3. Write down your recovery seed (24 words) exactly as shown — never store it digitally or share it. This is the only way to recover funds if the device is lost.

4. Update firmware & verify

Trezor will check for the latest firmware during setup. Install official firmware when prompted and verify the device screen matches what Trezor Suite displays. Never accept firmware from unknown sources.

5. Add accounts & manage crypto

Use Trezor Suite to add Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other supported accounts. You can receive, send, and sign transactions securely — all private keys stay inside your device.

Security tips: Keep your recovery seed offline and in a safe place. Use passphrases only if you understand their implications. Beware of phishing sites — always confirm trezor.io.
